Can you help escalate this, so it can be fixed for many of your customers? I'd love to use my new Apple device as intended! I did review your help articles, but I can't find the solution for this problem. Trying to fix it, I deleted my Google account from my iPhone and now it won't create a new account: it just gives up. This has worked fine for years, and I didn't change any settings. Since a few days ago, both my Mac and iPhone stall trying to connect to Gmail IMAP server.

Suddenly I can't connect to Gmail IMAP server on either Mac or iPhone1. This does affect functionality I added an event to the Google calendar on my Mac, yet the event won't sync/show on my iPhone. This does not solve the problem once the Google calendar populates and appears to be working again, the error reappears after some time. Apple Mail is unable to move the message to the Trash mailbox. I have removed and re-added the Google/Gmail account a few times now through System Preferences. This isn't happening to any of my other e-mail accounts. I'm seeing the same error message for my Google Calendar while inside the Calendar app. I can connect with safari through my provider's webmail app. They say that I'm not the only mac user to report this kind of problem. macOS 10.13.6 mail 11.5 I have checked all settings (none of which were changed) with my service provider and everything is ok. Enable access for less secure apps in your Google account. mac mail suddenly stopped connecting to server. Turn off two-step authentication for your Google account.

Remove Gmail from Keychain and enter your password manually. Remove Gmail from your Mac, then add it again. I just purchased a new MacBook Air (M1 chip) and used Migration Assistant to transfer over from my old Air a little over a week ago. Deactivate Gmail on your Mac, then activate it again.
